Therefore, the city power supply will be used as the home of solar panel power generation.

The on-grid inverter is the core part, which converts the direct current generated by the solar panel into pure alternating current to match the main grid of the city.

Finally, the two-way meter transfers photovoltaic energy that has just been converted to AC to the household load (electrical appliance) again.

Maybe you have a diesel generator that serves as the main power source for the city, but the grid-tie inverter converts pure AC current and is not compatible with the diesel generator — unless you use an off-grid inverter.

And if the main power supply in your area is unstable, it is recommended to use an energy storage system.

The energy storage system with batteries can be connected to your local power grid, or you can choose not to connect it. There are more options and functions.

Mr. Fernando company’s operating hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and the main power supply in Panama is stable. There will be no need for batteries as an evening backup.

Due to no added cost of batteries, it would be more cost-effective for Mr. Fernando to invest in a grid-connected solar system.

At the same time, we noticed that Panama was located in South America.

Many countries in South America have dual voltages 110v/120v and 220v/240v. For different AC output voltages, solar inverters will have different internal structures and prices.

Finally, it was confirmed that Mr. Fernando’s city’s main power supply is 110v/220v dual voltage. Double-output grid-connected inverters will be used.

There are 2 types of transformers inside this inverter, and the purpose is to output 2 different AC voltages at the same time.

Based on the average sunshine duration of 4 hours in the area where Mr. Fernando is located, the calculation is performed:

1201,000wh / 4h = 3000,250wh / 30 days (there are 30 days in a month on average) = 10,008wh.
